St Andrew’s Anglican Church in West St, Ferndale, Randburg has a rich and vibrant history that traces back to its humble beginnings in 1988. The church’s journey began with a small but dedicated group of worshippers who met at St Stithian’s Chapel.
By July 1989, the congregation had grown to over 100 members which led to an exciting opportunity to purchase the Catholic Church property located on West Street in Ferndale, Randburg.
In May 1991, the arrival of Reverend Christian Viljoen and Alison marked an important milestone for St Andrew’s. Their presence brought renewed energy and vision to the church. With great excitement and anticipation, St Andrew’s Anglican Church held its first service in the newly acquired Church in August 1991.
In 1992, construction commenced on extending the church building. This expansion included the addition of an office, kitchen, and hall. These new facilities would enhance the church’s ability to serve its members and the wider community.
Since then, St Andrew’s has continued to thrive and serve as a spiritual home for its members. It stands as a testament to the dedication, faith, and perseverance of those who have contributed to its establishment and growth over the years.
